Film celebrates the life of Bobby Flay's Maine Coon 'Nacho' who recently passed over the rainbow bridge

Image
Boby Flay and Nacho. Image: screenshot from the video on this page which is from Twitter. Here is a nice little video which is on Twitter X of the celebrated and much loved, ginger Maine Coon, Nacho , who recently passed over the rainbow bridge. His caregiver who survives him is Bobby Flay who is as celebrated - or more so - than Nacho. Mr Flay was devastated . The celebrity chef and entrepreneur founded his premium cat food brand in 2021 and named it after his beloved Maine Coon. RELATED POST:  American celebrity chef Bobby Flay named his pet food business after Nacho, his ginger tabby Maine Coon . There are a couple of points worth making at this time: Firstly, Nacho was the tender age of 9 when he died - the average lifespan of cats of this breed is 11 years . Nine years is about half the lifespan of a standard moggie cat. I have not seen the reports on the cause of Nacho's death as yet. If you have, please leave a comment. If not, I will speculate and say that it was almost ce...

Bobby Flay heartbroken as his Maine Coon 'Nacho' dies at the age of 9

Image
Bobby Flay and Nacho. Image: Instagram Boby Flay is an American celebrity chef, restaurateur, businessman and reality television personality. He is also known for being the caregiver of Nacho and a cat lover. He is one of those celebs who owns a Maine Coon. There aren't that many on my reckoning. It is with an absolute broken heart that I report Nacho has passed away peacefully. He announced on Instagram five days ago the passing of Nacho. And he really, really loved this cat. It went deep so he is badly cut up by Nacho's passing. It is very sad to read the story. But what I immediately noticed was Nacho's age when he died: 9! This is about half the age of a moggy with a good lifespan. We are not told the cause of death but I can guess: HCM. Heart disease to which this very popular breed is genetically predisposed and they should not be. It is a travesty that Maine Coons should be dying at 9-years-of-age. This is far too young. He should have had many years ahead of him. My...

Actor Lou Diamond Phillips lives with 5 Maine Coon cats. Discuss.

Image
Lou Diamond Phillips is a well-known actor with a Wikipedia page; a mark of recognition. Well done to him for his acting success. And well done to him for being a cat lover! He's got to be a decent man. Anyone who loves cats is automatically a good person 😉. Note: Wikipedia does not mention that he lives with cats! Shame. They are vital to his biography 😊 In previous research I came to the conclusion that not many celebrities adopt Maine Coons . That's true but the reason is almost certainly because their work makes it very tricky to be a good cat caregiver. Their work is probably often too peripatetic. I fairly sure that actors and actresses struggle with adopting any domestic cat for this reason although not all acting requires a lot of travel or being away from home for long periods. Here is a Twitter picture of the man and his five MCs! Actor Lou Diamond Phillips and his 5 Maine Coons. Image: Facebook. An interesting aspect of his cat ownership is that he is an apartment ...

Celebrities don't often adopt the Maine Coon, a celebrity cat

Image
It is perhaps ironic to note that it is hard to discover a celebrity who lives with a Maine Coon cat. This cat breed is celebrated all over the planet for its impressive size and appearance. They have a lovely character and they bestow upon the owner a status which arguably other cats don't.  And there are probably more celebrity Maine Coons cats that for any other breed. Bobby Flay with Nacho. Image: Instagram. But - and there is always a but with an introductory sentence like that - I can only find, at present, one celebrity who lives with a Maine Coon cat and his name is Bobby Flay. Bobby is a successful American businessman and he lives with a ginger tabby Maine Coon cat called Nacho . A search of the Internet looking at celebrities and their cats does not produce any other individual, make or female, who under the category 'celebrity' lives with a Maine Coon cat. It seems to me that the greatest followers of this breed are non-celebrity individuals, John Does. And they...

Does Will Ferrell look like a Maine Coon? Ron Perlman does.

Image
They (some of the public) claim that Will Ferrell looks like a Maine Coon. I can see the resemblance, but he is nowhere near as close as Ron Perlman. I am not sure that Mr Perlman enjoys the award but there it is. Here is Mr Perlman looking like a Maine Coon. I think the reason why Mr Perlman is better at this is because he has a 'heavier' face which includes the mouth and the area around the mouth. The Maine Coon has a very strong muzzle and mouth as you can see. This is Ron's great strength in the Maine Coon look-a-like contest 😊😉. I don't think it will keep Mr Ferrell awake at night. Perlman has a very masculine face and the Maine Coon internet stars which care often extreme bred also have very masculine faces. All the celebrity Maine Coons are males because the motto is 'the bigger the better'.  You know the old adage that dog owners look like their dogs? Well, I don't think the same applies to cats. Perhaps one reason is because the dog is able to mak...

I can find one celebrity who lives with a Maine Coon - Joe Perry (musician)

Image
I thought I would dig around and see whether I could find some human celebrities who live with Maine Coon cats. There are a lot of Maine Coon celebrities, as it happens, but what about the humankind and whether they like Maine Coon cats? And I have to say that I was somewhat surprised to struggle to find a celebrity with a Maine Coon cat companion. The Maine Coon is in the top three most popular cat breeds so you might have thought they would be more popular with celebrities. Nicolas Cage loves cats, and he lives with a Maine Coon called Merlin

Image
I have just discovered that Nicolas Cage loves cats and that he currently lives with a Maine Coon cat called Merlin. This was disclosed in an interview while promoting his upcoming movie The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent . He was speaking to The Hollywood Reporter about his life and acting career. In the movie he will be playing himself. He said some really nice things about is Maine Coon. Here they are verbatim: "I think the key is to respect them. And to let them come to you. The hand is very important. When you pet them, that connection is the great reward. When they start purring, you know they genuinely appreciate you being there. Lately, Merlin and I have had some issues because I got a little Pomeranian and he’s not happy about that. But Merlin is an unusual cat. It’s not the same as the other relationships I’ve had with cats throughout the years. There’s a real, almost human level of affection emanating from him which is almost like a son. It’s pretty intense." ...

Kesha lives with two Maine Coons and a Siamese cat (and Brad)

Image
Kesha is an American singer and songwriter. Her full name is Kesha Rose Sebert. She has the usual social media websites. She has a very good photographer who might be her partner, Brad, or somebody else because her Instagram pages are littered with really excellent photographs of a wide range of style-types.  Kesha lives with two Maine Coons and a Siamese cat. I believe that the Siamese cat Mr Peeps has been presented twice in the montage above. Wrong? Please tell me in a comment. Montage: Kesha Twitter feed. She is clearly a cat-lover because on her Twitter feed there is a photograph celebrating Pet Appreciation Day (2018) of her three cats, two of which are Maine Coons. Their names are Charlie and Queso. She also lives with a Siamese, 'Sir Mr Peeps'. It is said that she rescued Sir Mr Peeps from outside a strip joint in Russia. True? The photograph on this page shows four cats in a semicircle around Kesha and her partner Brad who are both holding the two Maine Coon cats. I...
