Florida Maine Coon breeders

This is a map of three Maine Coon breeders in the state of Florida as per a Google map which I have taken the great liberty of reproducing. The address of the breeder is adjacent to the marker on the map so you know where they are. Below are the links to their websites where you can get further details and I have listed their tel numbers.

Fullafire: +13525530996 - no website.

I am going to bore you and repeat the mantra that you have probably heard before namely that you should always visit a cat breeder to check out their facility, meet the people who create these cats and meet the cats. There is no substitute for this and you should not be embarrassed to ask pertinent and even pointed questions if necessary because this is a commitment for the lifetime of the cat which is up to 18 years approximately, normally. You have to get it right because the life of an individual cat is about to be made. And it will change your life quite substantially so the more research the better and in my opinion you can't do this at a distance. It may take quite a long time to get to the site and make the arrangements but it is worth the trouble.

And don't forget to get a contract which you should read throughout and all the usual other documentation such as a pedigree and proof of the usual vaccinations, micro-chipping, sterilisation and so on. Breeders listed on Google like this will provide all these things automatically but it pays to have them in mind when you turn up. I would always discuss the health of the cats as well. Maine Coon cats like pretty well all other purebred cats have inherited health issues. This breed is quite good in this respect but they are there and you need to know how good the breeder is at minimising the impact of these diseases. Two come to mind immediately but I have a page on this which you can read by clicking on this link. HCM, I heart disease and patellar luxation are the two that come to mind immediately. I recently wrote an article about the discovery of another potential heart disease which may be inherited by Maine Coon cats in addition to HCM. You read an article by clicking on this link if you wish.

Just a quick note as to why I have done it this way. Google are gradually expanding their presence on the Internet by taking extracts from websites and presenting those details on their website in search results. This stops people going to those websites which I think is unfair because often the website providing that details need visitors to sustain them. That is why I think it is fair to return the favour and use Google to build this page. If a Google employee read this then you know why I have done it. And if you disagree with me then please leave a comment and tell me why.
