Woman beside herself with worry about lost tabby Maine Coon cat allowed outside

Image
Frances Jonas is, as you might expect, devastated at the loss of her tabby Maine Coon cat. It cannot be said that the cat is categorically lost but she was last seen around midday on November 25, 2023 in Russet Road, Weaverham, Cheshire, UK. The cat's name is Lagertha. She is a magnificent tabby Maine Coon. Images: Frances Jonas Note: the story was published 12th December 2023 and therefore things might have changed but we don't have an update. Frances Jonas said that Lagertha had been out for the day before but she's never been missing like this before. She said that she was devastated and that she has "not slept for weeks. Some people might say it's only a cat but she's my cat. It's affected me massively. I run a shop - The Orchard on Lime Avenue - and my head is just not in anything." She said that she did nothing for Christmas with her husband. She added that she can't focus on anything and she's just wondering about where her cat is. She ...

Tabby Maine Coon checks out something of interest in the backyard

Image
A glorious tabby Maine Coon checks out something of interest in the backyard. Maine Coons look their best in the tabby coat I believe, as do others. The reason why I like this photograph is because it shows us the length which has been turned into the height of the Maine Coon. It's an un-posed photograph, a snapshot, taken in the backyard; an ordinary photograph which is why the cat looks extraordinary.  ASSOCIATED:  Maine Coon plays with a standard moggy through a glass door  (showing the size difference). I have said it before, the CFA does not state that Maine Coons should be big. They're meant to be substantial and have that robust appearance but the cat fancy does not tell breeders to create enormous Maine Coon cats. It has become a cultural habit.

"What we browsing today hoomin?" Says Maine Coon to owner.

Image
The word "hoomin" in the title is the feline pronunciation of the word "human" if you weren't absolutely sure. So we have a beautiful brown tabby-and-white Maine Coon interfering in the nicest possible way with his owner's computer work by lying across her hand and wrist while looking up at the monitor. It is a classic case of attention seeking or that is what the experts might say. Or, to be kinder, it is simply a cat wanting to be involved with what their human companion is doing. They want to share their human's activities which is perfectly normal. The only trouble is that it stops their human taking part in those activities. Brown tabby Maine Coon interferes in the nicest way with his hoomin's computer work. Photo: Reddit.com. It must be very nice, though, to have such a handsome purebred cat accompanying you on your computer. Computers are a favourite for domestic cats when it comes to attention seeking and interference. This is because when...

Maine Coon youngster from Belarus

Image
The colour and contrast does not represent normal because I have deliberately jazzed up the colour of the photograph by Marina Stepanova. Why not for a change? Ans: because the photographer and breeder won't like it :) . So the original is below this image. This Maine Coon is a young adult with a tabby-and-white coat. The breeder lives in Vitebsk, Belarus.  Maine Coon youngster in jazzed up colour photo.

Maine Coon Kitten with Breed Characteristics

Image
This Maine Coon kitten (going on being a cat) has some noticeable Maine Coon characteristics. Why say that? Because there are a good number of so-called Maine Coon cats on the internet and in this case Flickr that don't have Maine Coon characteristics and you wonder if they are actually Maine Coons. People do tend to call their long haired and large domestic cat a Maine Coon even if she or he has no pedigree and is not registered with a cat association, which makes then domestic long hair cats - random bred cats, which are as good and Maine Coons but they are not purebred cats. Here are two characteristics that give a clue as to the genuineness of the description, "Maine Coon". The tabby and white coat is not exclusive to the Maine Coon but is often associated with this cat breed: Maine Coon Kitten with a nice square muzzle and lynx tipped ears Photo  by  foxypar4

Maine Coon Kitten

Image
This is another beautiful Maine Coon kitten picture. I like this one better than the other one because this kitten looks to me more "typey". By this I mean this young cat looks like he or she will have the classic Maine Coon face and shaggy haired appearance when she grows up. She look like a female to me. Maine Coon Kitten - Photo  by  Barbarella - The Mad Cat Lady Also, for me there are two noticeable features of the Maine Coon. She already has distinctive tufts of fur from the tips of her ears and there is plenty of ear hair in the ear ("ear furnishing"). And the muzzle - the front part of the face - look very Maine Coonish to me. She seems to be a brown tabby and white kitten.

Maine Coon Coat

Image
Photo by Jean-Luc Toilet on Flickr. In the Cat Fanciers' Association breed standard the Maine Coon coat is described as, "heavy and shaggy;....Frontal ruff desirable.." Well this cat has a perfect coat under that description. It looks very heavy and very shaggy and there is plenty of "ruff". She has nice "ear furnishings" too. This means ear hair including those important ear tufts coming out of the top of the ears. The coat looks like a brown tabby and white one.
