Sunshine beauty female Maine Coon goes boating

Image
This is a really pretty Maine Coon. Such a delight for tired eyes. A real beauty. She has got to be a dilute ginger tabby. Delicate features but not to the point where she falls foul of the breed standard. Maine Coons are not meant to be delicate but robust-looking to reflect their barn life existence in their pre-show cat days in the 19th century on the East Coast of America. This looks like the Florida Keys or some other part of that sunny state to me but I am not that familiar with that neck of the woods. But it does look like a sunshine state for a sunshine Maine Coon. Even her coat is radiant. She is so definitively female. Sometimes it can be hard to tell the difference but not in this case. Now, if you are thinking of buying a Maine Coon you could do a lot worse and to go boating with her like this it makes it all look so delightful, so right. The cat is getting all the excitement they need and the caregiver is getting the company and the satisfaction from knowing that they are...

Wet Maine Coon loses her gloss and glamour

Image
You decide what this tweet means from this Maine Coon's caregiver, Jessica Price, because I don't have a clue. Please explain Jessica. I am interested. The sadness of the freshly scratched-up Maine Coon bather, who has scratches in places we don’t want to talk about from being in a shower stall with a panicking baby lynx. But what is clear is when a Maine Coon is wet, they lose all their glossy glamour. And the Maine Coon can be quite skinny below their medium-longhaired, natural-looking coat for which they are rightly famous. The huge Maine Coon that we see is no longer evident. Perhaps the worst part is the tail. The magnificent plumed tail looks like a frayed, wet dishcloth. Nice pic. She is female and relatively small compared to some Maine Coons I have seen. That's a good thing as the public is starting to believe that all Maine Coons are gargantuan. They're not . The breed standard doesn't even state that they have got to be large. Girly-looking Maine Coon beauty in a snowy place

Image
The snow sort of adds to the image. And this is an impressive image because the cat is so impressive. What a beauty she is. Girly-looking Maine Coon beauty in a snowy place. Photo: Twitter. This very large cat looks distinctly female which is almost certainly true because nearly all calico cats (tortoiseshell-and-white) and tortoiseshell cats are female due to the genetic link between sex and coat type. This cat's face is distinctly female for me. Very girly. Sometimes you can tell the gender of a cat from their face because some feline faces are distinctly female or male. But on other occasions it is not so clear. As cat owners we don't pay much attention to the fact that our cat might look masculine or feminine. This is a good and we should take that attitude forward in our relations with humans! Less judging people on their appearance and more on their behavior. And a more open mind to appearance would help in the drive for equality and less prejudice. A bit about the rar...

Picture of an extraordinary Maine Coon tail

Image
Wow, describes my emotions when I saw this plumed Maine Coon tail. I mean, the Maine Coon tail is meant to be grand and fabulous but this! Amazing. It is as long and as impressive as the tail of a snow leopard and they are the world's best cat tails (the longest and thickest). CFA breed standard states (the official guideline to breeders on how the tail should look for this breed):  TAIL: long, wide at base, and tapering. Fur long and flowing. They call them 'plumed' which sort of sums up the appearance. It certainly applies to this cat's tail. Why is she or he outside the home? Thieves about! Too glamorous. Too desirable. Especially during lockdown. But this pic was taken years ago before a pandemic was even dreamt about. Picture of an extraordinary Maine Coon tail. Picture in the public domain. My best guess is that this individual is female. You can detect it in the face. A little more femine that the face of a typical male. This is a gray tabby with a beauty of ...
