UK Maine Coon kittens available for Christmas 2022

Image
The Maine Coon Cat Club provides us with useful advice about purchasing a Maine Coon kitten. I mention some aspects of this advice below. One of their services is to provide a list of kittens available at certain times. They've updated their list on December 18, 2022. Like other people, my mind turns to a Christmas gift of a Maine Coon kitten which sounds fantastic BUT you know you've got to be self-disciplined. Super Maine Coon kitten. Image: Pinterest (modified by MikeB). The old adage comes to mind which is that a kitten is not for Christmas but for the life of the animal. It's very easy to be a little bit self-indulgent and think that I want a kitten NOW and I am going to have one for Christmas. Or my children would like a Maine Coon kitten for Christmas. The best present ever.  But that does not mean you shouldn't buy for Christmas . It is fine provided you have done your homework. Sorry if I sound as if I am lecturing. Note: I don't think you should buy a £1,2...

One month old ginger Maine Coon kitten is melting hearts (video)

Image
This is a very short video on the TikTok website by 'sir_jacoon'. It has caught the imagination of people because it's been seen about 1/2 a million times which is not bad for TikTok! I'm not sure why it is so popular to be perfectly frank, but it is probably as simple as this: Maine Coon kittens particularly ones with a very strong muzzle and a ginger tabby coat are very popular. And the expression on this kitten's faces priceless. But I don't like to see a kitten who is anxious and this one is. I'm not sure it's a good idea to make a video like this of an anxious little kitten but I understand the reason why because it's going to be popular. One month old ginger tabby Maine Coon kitten is melting hearts. Screenshot. The video is presented twice below: once as an embedded video from TikTok and the same video uploaded to this page. The former is better quality, but it might disappear which is why the other version is here! ✔️👍. @sir_jcoon Guarant...

Comparison of a black smoke Maine Coon at 6 weeks and 6-years-of-age

Image
This is a cross-post as the image is so damned good. It is amazing because the cat is amazing. To put the same cat at different stages of their life in the same photograph is a nice idea especially with this Maine Coon (MC) who has an amazingly heavy face. It is so mightily masculine to be almost unbelievable. He has a priceless expression on his face too. Very serious compared to the innocence of his face when he was 6 weeks old. He looks a bit coy when 6 weeks old and a slightly grumpy middle-aged man when 6 years old. Comparison of a black smoke Maine Coon at 6-weeks and 6-years-of-age. Image in pubic domain. No doubt he is huge too. You get a clear sense of that in the image. There is a serious and less impressive side to this image. It's the backstory that people don't really want to read about and discuss or in fact do anything about: heart ( HCM ) and joint disease. The bigger and heavier the MCs are the more predisposed to heart disease they are. Here is the posts on...

Chubby-cheeked white Maine Coon kitten

Image
Chubby-cheeked white Maine Coon kitten. Picture: Pinterest and therefore in the public domain. This is an interesting looking Maine Coon kitten.  All Maine Coon kittens tend to look quite rounded and chunky. They become more elongated and elegant when the grow up so we can expect to see this sort of chubbiness but this is exceptional. The ears are already very impressive with huge lynx tips. The muzzle is already pronounced. As expected in a white cat, the eyes are a clear blue. It looks like he or she has rouge on his cheeks as if she has put on makeup.  This is just the vestiges of a pattern that has been masked by the dominant white gene which removes melanin (pigmentation) from the hair strands. White cats don't have white pigment in the hairs but no pigment. A super-looking cat who's no doubt made someone very happy and proud. Maine Coon kitten with 'devil horn ears'

Image
This photograph of a Maine Coon kitten on the Pinterest website caught my attention. Highly unusually it seems to me (although they may straighten out) the ears are curled back slightly. This gives the impression that they are 'devil horn ears'. That's what I thought of when I saw them. There is no such thing. To put it another way, they look like devil's horns. Maine Coon kitten with devil horn ears. Photo: Pinterest. The kitten is anything but a devil. He or she has that slightly human face. There is a race of Maine Coon cats out there, I know not where, which look like humans. You must have seen them. I believe they are bred by a Russian living in China but I may be getting my wires crossed. It does sound a bit fanciful but it might be true. Devil's horns for sale. Pic: online shop. The kitten is a solid red colour with white. This is a bicolour cat. He's going to grow up to be totally awesome but, as mentioned, I would expect the ears to straighten out. ...

Teeny Maine Coon kitten with a hint of Einstein

Image
Here he is, the teeny-tiny Maine Coon who licked an electrical socket :) . That's the comment of a funnyman on the Reddit.com website. They say this little fella or girl is a Maine Coon but I have no idea is that is actually the case (where are the ears for example!?). It does not matter an awful lot because this is about the face and the backlit hair. The expression is priceless. The eye color is super as it matches the fur colour. He/she is some sort of tabby cat I believe. Teeny tiny Maine Coon kitten named Tony. Photo: Reddit.com An awesome little cat who must be the cutest on the internet today. There is a hint of Einstein in there somewhere. It's the shaggy coat. Maine Coons are meant to have medium-longhaired shaggy coats. But where are the ears! Is this a Scottish Fold!? Could be unless the ears are hidden by the fur with is 'burnt out' photographically speaking. Photo in the public domain on Pinterest. This is Einstein, the great man whose general theory of ...
