Maine Coon kitten with 'devil horn ears'

This photograph of a Maine Coon kitten on the Pinterest website caught my attention. Highly unusually it seems to me (although they may straighten out) the ears are curled back slightly. This gives the impression that they are 'devil horn ears'. That's what I thought of when I saw them. There is no such thing. To put it another way, they look like devil's horns.

The kitten is anything but a devil. He or she has that slightly human face. There is a race of Maine Coon cats out there, I know not where, which look like humans. You must have seen them. I believe they are bred by a Russian living in China but I may be getting my wires crossed. It does sound a bit fanciful but it might be true.

The kitten is a solid red colour with white. This is a bicolour cat. He's going to grow up to be totally awesome but, as mentioned, I would expect the ears to straighten out. I almost wonder whether the cat has inherited the gene which produces the American Curl's curled back ears but once again I'm being fanciful.

If this kitten had been born in Africa the superstitious among them, of which there is a large number, would certainly believe that this was the devil incarnate. A lot of Kenyans villagers still believe that domestic cats are the embodiment of the devil particularly when females caterwaul as they call the males for mating.
