Size is not all, however. Did you know that the Maine Coon is predisposed to suffering from hip dysplasia and that hip dysplasia in Maine Coons could be much reduced if they were selectively bred smaller? The larger the body mass of the cat the more likely it is that they will have the disease. That's something they don't tell you when afficionados drool over humungous Maine Coons bred in Russia.
