However, I have a couple of points to make about this. There is one God-like all-white Maine Coon living in Russia which I written about which I think must be as long as Barivel. His name is Kefir. He's been named after a dairy milk product in Russia 😊. But he is simply enormous and he is bigger than Barivel, isn't he?
This is Kefir. Isn't he bigger than Barivel? Photo: Yulia Minina (SWNS), the woman in the picture. |
You just wonder whether the Guinness World Records information is correct. Much depends upon who bothers to write to them and who bothers to go through all those hoops and hurdles to get their cat into the book. Perhaps some people just don't bother to do it. I could be wrong but this is what I sense might be the case.
RELATED: Maine Coon Character.
It is nice, in the video, to hear one of Barivel's owners, talking so nicely about his cat. He talks about the character and that he is a quiet and shy cat. I think that you will find that Maine Coons in general can be a little shy like this. It's a great quality. They can be calm and shy which means that you have a very stable cat companion who is going to be predictable and reliable. And unlikely to get into trouble. Perfect.
P.S. I think a Maine Coon in Nevada, Stewie was the previous record holder in this category. Click this to see him.
