Video of Maine Coon 'massaging' (kneading) his best buddy, a Staffy

It looks like the Maine Coon is a full-time indoor cat living in an apartment in GdaƄsk, Poland. The video has attracted the attention of news media which is why it has been seen well over a million times, which makes it the best video for this TikTok user: maine_staffy. 

The user's handle reflects the fact that the dog is a Staffordshire Bull Terrier. The cat looks like a genuine Maine Coon; a grey tabby with a bit of white and what looks like dilute markings. A beautiful and cute cat for kneading his best buddy, the Staffy.

I'll present the video twice (1) once as an embedded video from TikTok which may stop working and (2) an uploaded version which won't disappear, but the quality is poorer.



We know that they are best buddies because when a cat kneads another animal species including their human caregiver, it means that emotionally they regard the other as their surrogate mom and they are instinctively kneading what they think is the breast of their mom to encourage the flow of milk. It reminds us that domestic cats are inherently somewhat confused by the situation in which they find themselves. 

They are living in an entirely human environment and their closest companion is a human.

Here is a picture of the Maine Coon. He's a good looker and not extreme, just nicely balanced in appearance.

Kneading like this is very cute and it seems that the dog is enjoying it as he makes a little squeal or grunt but perhaps it is painful! It might be because those claws are going to be felt. And this staffy has a very close lying coat. It is not thick. I expect the dog felt the claws! 😊😉

This is an example of extreme breeding. This is a Maine Coon but this cat is an extreme and rare example of this breed. This is not the way they look normally. Eerie picture of a Maine Coon sitting like a human on a chest of drawers

This is a slightly scary picture according to those who've seen it. One social media user said it was the devil and "If I walked into a room and saw that, I would assume some shit is about to go down". There is a ghostly stillness and sinister feeling about the image. 'Eerie' is a better description. This attractive cat appears to be completely at ease and comfortable sitting on top of a chest of bedroom drawers. The lighting from below (deliberate?) enhances the eerie effect. It seems possible that this is a photo-edited image but if so, it has been done with great skill. However, I don't think this is Photoshopped. Rethink: to be honest, the more I look at the picture, the more I feel that this is a photo-edited image. It is just too unnatural to be real. Black smoke Maine Coon Richie with a black face and diamond eyes

Black smoke Maine Coon Richie with a black face and diamond eyes. Photo: Instagram. OMG, this is a Maine Coon with an amazing face. His full name is "Richie du Mont d’Even". I think he has a black smoke coat which has created this black face with the assistance of other genes (polygenetic influence?) and ears with piercing, diamond eyes. This is a very special cat. Richie looked very interesting but relatively plain as a kitten. Image: Instagram. His paws are balls of fluff. He has a mane that goes over his head like a halo. He's angelic and other-worldly. The lynx tips on the end of his ears are smoky grey which makes them stand out.
